Vault Lid Anchors for Precast Vault Production | ALP Supply

Most burial vault lid producers are running the same anchor they’ve always used, sourced from whoever had it in stock. It’s not a component that gets revisited often. But when a cage shifts during a pour, a lid strips rough, or a supplier goes on backorder mid-run, it gets revisited fast. ALP Supply stocks a purpose-built stainless steel vault lid anchor sized for burial vault lid production, with pricing published online and volume pricing available on request.

What a Vault Lid Anchor Does

A vault lid anchor is a formed wire component cast into the top of a burial vault lid. It handles two jobs in a single production cycle:

  • Cage support: Before concrete is placed, the anchor holds the reinforcing cage at the correct elevation inside the form, keeping it in position during placement and ensuring consistent cover in the finished lid.
  • Stripping and placement: Once the lid has cured, the exposed anchor loops are used to pull the lid from the form, move it to staging, and set it on the vault at the cemetery.

Frequently Asked Questions

A vault lid anchor holds the reinforcing cage in position during burial vault lid casting and serves as the lift point for stripping the cured lid and placing it on the vault. One component handles both steps.
The VLA1255S is a .125" x 5-1/4" x 1-1/2" stainless steel formed wire anchor with two crimped ends, packed 300 per carton.
Vault lids are installed outdoors and exposed to moisture long-term. Stainless steel resists rust staining on the top surface of the lid. It also holds its formed shape better than carbon steel under repeated stripping loads.
A utility-grade release agent is the right fit. Surface-Max™ Utility Release Agent is formulated for vaults and underground precast applications and is available alongside a seasoning agent for form conditioning.
